NAFI RI Executive Director Lynn Bishop and her leadership team also guide operations in Connecticut and New York, and staff from across the tri-state alliance participated in the survey that led to the Top Workplaces honor for NAFI RI.
The list of winners was announced December 11th, and marks the first-ever Top Workplaces honors for Rhode Island and the 8th consecutive award for the tri-state alliance.
The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey measures 15 culture drivers critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

Among the employee feedback submitted were these comments:
I think the culture of NAFI is great. They care about their employees and want us all to succeed.
Feedback is always requested and encouraged and validated. Leadership responds in a caring fashion to concerns and is not defensive in any way.
I am able to make a difference in others’ lives. I have the support of my supervisor and director. I am encouraged to prioritize my family and create a positive work/life balance.
It’s a one stop shop: Wonderful teammates, colleagues, the flexibility, family sense, encouragement of self-care and personal family highlights. The ability and platform to grow and develop in my supervisorial role. The main element I would say, is the support that I have received all throughout the years of being a part of the NAFI family.
“Being named to the Top Workplaces list is an honor and a testament to the dedication, talent, and caring of our leadership team and supervisors,” said Lynn Bishop, Executive Director of NAFI RI. “That said, our staff deserves the greatest gratitude. Your enthusiasm, passion, and devotion to the mission of empowering individuals and strengthening families is truly inspiring. Thank you to The Boston Globe for giving our employees this opportunity to celebrate, at this time.”
“Being named a Top Workplace in 2022 speaks to the resilience of our team,” added Cindy Livsey, Regional Director for NAFI RI. “Our employees have been working tirelessly to help those in our care to heal from the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. This was further exasperated by a national workforce shortage. Through it all, this incredible team remained client-first and put their heart into their work every day. I’m proud of this recognition and know that the best days lie ahead!”
