Ridge Street is a staff secure group home for eight adolescent girls with diverse and significant mental health and/or behavioral issues. Previous placements may
include psychiatric hospitals, secure and non-secure treatment programs, juvenile justice programs or home. Referrals are made through the RI DCYF and RI Family Court.
Ridge Street strives to give residents age appropriate experiences in the larger community to every extent possible. Residents are engaged in school and extracurricular activities, community service in the local area, sports leagues, the local Boys and Girls Club, as well as NAFI activities. Family involvement is encouraged in all activities, both at the group home and in the community. The program maintains a full time special education teacher to provide tutorial services for residents who require more gradual transitions into the local public schools, or who are unable to enter school immediately.
